"The Chronoliths", by Robert Charles Wilson
I finished this book this weekend. I have mixed feelings about it. Some of the concepts of the Chronoliths were interesting, but after finishing it I felt like the author could have done more with it. I also didn't quite get the ending, but it seemed like Wilson was saying that if you can influence the past, it won't change the future. Personally, I find this to be the most consistent view of time travel (if it exists), but Wilson's storytelling wasn't always on, and that left me with an empty feeling when I put the book down. Good books always leave me feeling like I just ate a great meal; this book didn't do that.
