A Consultant's Prayer

Someone (I'll withhold Kurt Christensen's name to protect the guilty) sent me this "prayer" he came up with morning [1]:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of [client name deleted]. I will fear no incompetence, for IntelliJ is with me; thy navigation and refactoring tools they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my project manager; thou anointest my head with incomplete requirements; my patience runneth over. Surely boredom and pain shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will one day sit in a corner and write stupid web apps for ever.

I read this during a presentation at Lang.NET 2006, and I almost burst out laughing, which would've been really inappropriate. But I had to share this quote with the world - it's just too good to keep in a personal e-mail, and Kurt was gracious enough to let me post it on my site.

[1] Or at least he said he created it - for all I know he plaguarized someone else. Kurt's known to be evil because he's not religious, and we all know non-religious folk are by definition evil.
