Code Camp 4 Recap

This weekend's code camp went great! We had over 160 attendees, and from what I could tell everyone seemed to really enjoy this one. The room at the end for the prize giveaway was completely packed...we'll have to address that issue at the next one. (BTW the guy who won the XBox 360 + Rock Band + 1600 XBoxLive free points was very happy :) ). The material for my presentation can be found here.

Yeah, that guy that won the xBox is a college student here at UW-Stout. Turns out he might not be able to keep the xBox! I bring a group of students to every TCCC. They all work in our student development center and when they go to TCCC they actually get 8 hours of pay. Well, employees of the state of Wisconsin cannot accept winnings or it becomes property of the State... My boss is discussing the matter with her superiors as I write this... I have a feeling though, they will just tell him to just keep it on the “down low”. TOO FUNNY!

What?! How do I sign up for that deal! :)

I won an Infragistics value pack of software components (I think it was the NetAdvantage Suite). I'm not 100% sure, but I think the 'price tag' on that is more than an XBOX and Rock Band. I'm not really into those 'everything including the kitchen sink' component packs though so I let the guy next to me have it. I hope it finds its way to someone who will use/appreciate it, because it's a pretty nice prize.

I really wanted the VB6 books. :(
