GA/EP Material

I've mentioned before that I'm interested in learning more about evolutionary programming and genetic algorithms. I looked through the books I have and I've decided to go through these:

I realize there may be better books out there but this is what was lying around.

I have no idea how long it's going to take me to get through all this. 6 months? 6 years? We'll see...but I'll never make any progress unless I get started. To discipline myself better, I'll post reviews of the material I've read - that'll help me remember what I've gone over.

# awesome stuff, from Jake Good at 02.02.2009 02:58:30 PM

I have a copy of Genetic Algorithms in Search, Optimization, and Machine Learning... definitely *not* one for your first read, save that one for a later date :)

I did a lot of projects in college around GA/GP so if you want more, you can certainly email me :)

# Please Do, from Aaron Erickson at 02.02.2009 07:08:03 PM

This is a subject that has fascinated me since college. I would love to see where something like this interacts with LOB apps/BI/whatever people use to "figure out stuff" using computers.
